My blog is now apparently the target of spambots.
This weekend I received notifications that there were two comments awaiting moderation.
"You have a great blog. I sincerely enjoy reading it and hope you visit my blog soon -- viagra kopen."
First clue to the spambot -- it comments on posts from nine years ago.
Second clue to the spambot -- they are overly concerned with ... um .... enhancing ... my life.
Methinks I'll return the security setting to include word verification.

A Few Words About Comments
Comments are always welcome here, but there are a few things you should know:
1) If you comment, leave a name. If you can't figure out how to log in or register or whatever the system is making you do (which, believe me, I fully understand how frustrating that can be) and you must comment anonymously . . . leave a name in the comment section. Purely anonymous comments will be deleted.
2) Comments I deem to be offensive, irrelevant, or generally trollish will be deleted. I'm mainly talking to the Akurians here. Don't make me get out my flag!
3) If you would like to receive e-mail notification of other comments so you can more easily follow a conversation (yeah, like I ever have those on this blog), you must register with Blogger. Sorry . . . I didn't have anything to do with that one.
Enjoy the game.

I was getting pummeled by a spam bot two weeks ago. 50-something attempts to post a comment to my blog. I was getting the email notifications but they were automatically being banished to spam by Blogger. I got so sick of clicking on the emails, though, that I found a place to report them. By the next morning, they were gone. I loathe those word verifications, so I don't have that option turned on for my blog. I can never read them when people have them turned on! LOL If I can't figure out what they are by the third attempt, I just abandon my comment. There's nothing I need to say that badly.
Good to hear from you. Hope things are well for you. I'm guessing my word verification thingy wasn't a problem for you.
Things have been well. I hope they have been for you too! This time, it just made me click a little box that says "I'm not a robot" and that was it. We'll see if it allows me to do that with a second comment. ;-)
